Break away on two wheels

If you fancy a day or two away from home, without breaking the bank or your daily commitment to fitness, why not consider one of these amazing cycling holidays?

Cornwall’s Camel Tail for a day out with the family
Cycle along an 18-mile disused rail track from Padstow to the foot of Bodmin Moor, and catch your breath – not because it’s tough, but because it’s so beautiful, passing through some of the most spectacular countryside in the South West. With traffic at bare minimum, distance not too lengthy, this is ideal for folks with mini cyclists in tow. From wildlife spotting to ice-cream stop-offs, this idyllic journey on two-wheels offers it all. Cycle hire available for big and little people.

The New Forest for a day out with friends
Situated between Southampton (Hampshire) and Christchurch (Dorset), the New Forest National Park is a pocket paradise for cyclists. Over 100 miles worth of weaving, rolling routes await you and, depending on your level of experience or age, you can pick a terrain to suit. At Brockenhurst Station Car Park (at the centre of the forest), there’s a Cyclex http://www.cyclex.co.uk/ shop for those who need to top up their biking supplies. You too can hire anything from a mountain bike to an electric one.

Sodbury sportive for a day out with a hint of competition
If you prefer your cycling with a competitive edge, there are lots of sportives across the country, including one of our favourites at Chipping Sodbury in South Gloucestershire (takes place Sunday 5th August). It’s a friendly event and the marked Strava segments add a little adrenalin rush to proceedings. Post-ride and having taken in some stunning views, there’s a hot meal waiting at the end for you!
