The objective of a game of netball is to score more goals than the opposition. The court is split into thirds; an attacking, defensive and mid-court. There are seven positions in Netball and these restrict where a player may move. Only the goal shooter and goal attack are permitted to enter the shooting circle and attempt to score; conversely only the goal keeper and goal defence may enter from the opposing side. Goals are scored when the ball is passed to a team member positioned in the attacking shooting circle who then shoots the ball through the goal ring. A normal game consists of four 15 minute quarters and can be played outdoors or in a covered stadium.
