The Rugby World Cup is the third biggest sporting event on the planet. Although professional players may all look like 20 tonne bulldozers, when it comes to playing rugby, nifty small players are also an advantage. Rugby is one of the biggest sports in England and is played at almost every school in the country. The game is intensely physical and requires great strength and stamina mixed with a dose of speed and agility. It’s great for both kids and adults and has developed a deep heritage in England over the years.

Ahead of the 2015 World Cup in England the RFU is bidding to boost youth participation, whether it be in Mini Rugby, Sevens, or the 15-man code. There are some 3,000 registered clubs in England so whether you want to play, coach or volunteer, rugby has an opportunity for you.Rugby union is a game contested between two teams of 15 players who attempt to progress an oval shaped ball down into the opposing team’s court with the aim being to score points. The ball can be progressed by both throwing and kicking, but the passing must always move forward – a rule instilled to keep the game exciting.
