GET MOVING!
After Louis Smith’s landmark result at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, where he scored a bronze on the pommel horse and became the first British man to win an Olympic gymnastics medal in 100 years, Britain has steadily been proving itself a force to be reckoned with on the world stage. At the London 2012 Games, Smith traded up for a silver with teammate Max Whitlock close behind at bronze. Beth Tweddle secured a bronze for the ladies on the uneven bars and the British men achieved the same in the team event. All in all, it was enough to inspire young people of all abilities to get involved at schools, leisure centres and clubs across Britain. The sport has a range of disciplines in which performance gymnasts display exception strength, great courage and awe-inspiring skills. Gymnastics is breathtaking to watch and exhilarating to perform, offering everyone a fun, social and exciting activity.
British Gymnastics can help you get access to the many gymnastics courses taking place in Great Britain right now. You can use the Find a Course tool to search for details of courses across the country, including course costs and enrolment details.
