GET SAILING!

Britain is ringed by windswept coasts and boasts countless lakes, estuaries and rivers. So, it’s not surprising that sailing is one of Britain’s most successful Olympic sports, with a talented national team led by the four-time gold medallist Sir Ben Ainslie. Being surrounded by water also means that sailing is an accessible sport nationwide. It can be a sociable and relaxing leisure experience or a high-adrenaline, high-performance sport, whichever you are looking for.  On top of that, sailing has now developed into one of the most accessible sports for people with a disability. There are many ways to get involved and even more ways to enjoy yourself on the open water.

JOIN THE CLUB

Many clubs and centres will have special ‘have a go’ taster days to encourage new sailors and windsurfers into hitting the waves and offer a range of fantastic facilities and rentals. Visit the RYA website to find your local RYA centre and get out on the open water today!

COURSES

Qualifications gained through the RYA are known and respected all over the world. They offer a structured training programme taught by qualified RYA instructors geared to getting students the skills and the knowledge needed. To find your nearest club or centre visit the RYA site.
