GET IN THE RING

The terminology in judo may seem confusing, but the philosophies and physical motions can be learned quite easily when taught by a trained expert. Your first step would be finding a club or beginners’ course close to you with qualified instructors.  The British Judo Association has excellent resources on their website for anyone curious about this challenging and stimulating sport, whether you be a complete beginner or an advanced judoka looking for your next goal.

COURSES

Many beginners courses will provide you with the necessary kit and also the basic skills you will need to work your way towards a black belt. Find out more about beginners’ courses at British Judo here.

COACHING

If you are interested in becoming a judo coach and you already attend a judo club, speak to a couch to find out about opportunities and get in touch with the British Judo Association to find out the closest Level 1 course. For more information, read here on the BJA website.

VOLUNTEERS

British Judo have opportunities for volunteers to help out at both the club and event level. Duties include admin, set up, supervising and event food prep. For club volunteering check here and for event volunteering check here
