GET IN THE RING!

Britain has a long tradition of success in the ring from amateur to professional level and continued this by topping the boxing medal table at London 2012. Inspiring performances by gold medal winners including super-heavyweight Anthony Joshua have increased interest in boxing in its more technical form. Boxing is a contest of strength, speed, guile and endurance and it’s also a great all-round cardio, toning and balance work-out. It’s energetic, dynamic and requires ultimate fitness to succeed. If you think you are up for the challenge, there are opportunities aplenty even near you.

JOIN THE CLUB

The clubs are the lifeblood of boxing in England. There are hundreds of clubs up and down the country. Just pop over to England Boxing’s Club Finder feature to help you find contact details for a club near you.

COURSES

The first step to becoming a coach is to become involved with a local club. In order to gain a coaching qualification, you must first be nominated by an England Boxing affiliated club. Everything is explained on the England Boxing website.

VOLUNTEER

Volunteers are crucial to the delivery and the future development of boxing across the UK. Visit the volunteers section of the ABAE website

WHAT’S ON

It may not involve prize-fighting or 12 rounds of drama, but amateur boxing can be an extremely exciting sport to watch. Keep up to date with the ABAE events section.
