Nominations are now open for ArcheryGB’s annual Recognition Awards, celebrating outstanding contributions from the unsung heroes at the heart of archery’s grassroots scene.
Hosted at the Performance Archery Centre in Lilleshall on 29 November, the awards will once again shine a well-earned spotlight on those whose vital work behind the scenes often goes unnoticed.
There are 12 awards up for grabs on the night, with categories spanning clubs, partner organisations, coaches, and volunteers. The full list of awards are:
- Working with Young People, Club Award
- Club of the Year
- Archery Activity Partner AAP of the Year
- Coach Developer/County or Regional Coaching Officer of the Year
- Coach of the Year
- Inclusive Coaching Award
- Judge of the Year
- Disability Archery Award – The Gussy Trophy
- Volunteer of the Year – Hartwell Trophy
- Young Volunteer of the Year
- Best Archery Photo of the Year
- High Performance Athlete of the Year Award
Previous winners recognised for their outstanding contributions to keep archery thriving at all levels include clubs Redhill Archers, Thirsk Bowmen, and Audco Archers, coaches Philippa Lowe and Deb Horn, and volunteers Jasmine Simpson, Richard Madigan, and Imogen Bannister.
In 2022, Paralympian Phoebe Paterson-Pine received the Disability Archery Award following her gold medal in Tokyo and for her role in advocating inclusivity in the sport.
