Tamworth’s SnowDome was the setting as British stars of all ages put on a show at the 2025 British Indoor Ski Championships in August.

Snowsport athletes from around the country competed fiercely in banked slalom and slopestyle events – both on skis and boards – with standout performances at the competition known as The Brits leaving a lasting impression.

In the banked slalom snowboard event, Scotland’s Stevie Trolland was crowned champion at the age of 51, fending off competition from a host of younger challengers who were unable to beat his winning time of 17.88 seconds from two runs. Winning his age-group title meant he returned home to Aviemore with two medals.

And it went from seasoned competitors to rising stars as at the other end of the age scale, youngster Matilda Slater claimed not only under-13 slopestyle and banked slalom wins, but also the overall women’s banked slalom title.

It meant the event showcased a full day of top-level slope shredding that spanned generations, open to skiers and snowboarders who could enter categories including U12, U16, U18, masters, and the overall titles. Wyatt Dunn and Esme Hume took the overall snowboard titles, while Tyler Nicholls-Stubbington and Ella Hall completed the set with victories in the overall ski categories.

Along with the British Championship titles for men and women in skiing and snowboarding, there was also a family championship up for grabs, won by the parent and child with the fastest combined times.

As a landmark of British snowsports history, the Tamworth SnowDome proved to be the perfect host. Opened in 1994, it was the first indoor real-snow slope in the UK, pioneering year-round access to snow for skiers and snowboarders at all levels. Since then, it has become a grassroots hub for the British snowsport scene with its 175-metre main slope and thriving community.
