Tennis For Free (TFF) delivers fully inclusive, mass participation tennis sessions in public parks across the UK – completely free of charge. Designed to reach people of all ages and backgrounds, especially those most in need, TFF uses tennis as a tool to promote physical activity, mental well-being, and community engagement.
TFF operates across more than 120 park sites nationwide (pre-Covid levels) and is committed to working in some of the UK’s most deprived areas. Sessions are open to all, but are particularly targeted at those who may face barriers to sport, including financial hardship, poor health, or lack of local facilities.
Key programmes include:
- TFF Core Sessions – held at weekends in public parks, with a focus on communities most in need.
- TFF Wellbeing Sessions – delivered in partnership with the NHS and mental health groups.
- TFF 50+ Sessions – tailored for participants aged 50 and over.
- TFF Schools – offered to schools with limited access to sports resources.
- TFF Clubs – encouraging local tennis clubs to open their doors to the wider community.
TFF collaborates with partners such as the LTA, NHS, local councils, and community organisations to ensure sessions reach those who benefit most. TFF’s impact is best summed up by Pretpal Chagar, now a coach at Pype Hayes Park:
“Tennis For Free changed my life. I started attending at 16 and now, seven years later, I’m a licensed coach helping others discover the same opportunities.”
