Ahead of the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Italy, Snowsport England has launched a new programme to encourage newcomers to hit the slopes.

Its Way2Snow campaign has brought together snowsport venues and organisation all over the UK to offer 12 hours of expert tuition at discount prices.

Designed to be an accessible and affordable entry point into skiing or snowboarding, Way2Snow is available for anyone aged 11 and above at the following venues:

In the hope that the initiative will appeal to all abilities, the initiative is also backed by the Ski Club of Great Britain, Disability Snowsport UK (DSUK), and Snow Camp.

Taster sessions are available for £39, while the full 12-hour package can be booked for £299 (£249 for juniors). This includes all ski or snowboard hire, boots, helmets, lift passes, and expert tuition. There’s also free membership to the Ski Club of Great Britain thrown in too.

James Arnold, CEO of Snowsport England, is hoping the campaign enjoys a similar mainstream impact to the successful Couch to 5k running movement. He said, “Snowsports are the perfect sport to try for fun, whatever your age or fitness level. Similar to the Couch to 5K programme, Way2Snow is specifically designed to take someone with little or no experience to a proficient level, guided by expert instructors at all three centres at a heavily reduced price.

“For us, getting more people to try snowsports for the first time is a great way to build momentum ahead of the next Winter Olympics, which is now only a few months away.”
