The new table tennis season is here – and the table tennis community is gearing up for the World Championships in 2026
The 2025/26 table tennis season began on August 1, bringing significant changes across competitions, rankings, and regulations.
It’s exciting times for devotees and newcomers to the sport as this season’s competitions build up the ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships being held in London in 2026
- Group stages: April 28 to May 1 – Copper Box Arena, Stratford
- Main draw: May 2 to May 10 – OVO Arena, Wembley
Build up to the World Championships
In the build up to the Worlds the Table Tennis England calendar of events includes the introduction of the Under-11 & U13 Pathway Development Cup, scheduled for May 30–31, 2026, at Highfield TTC.
The Senior British Clubs League enters an exciting new era, with four Premier Division weekends confirmed:
- October 4-5 at North Ayrshire TTC
- December 13-14 at BATTS TTC
- February 14 at Fusion TTC
- April 11-12 at Ormesby TTC
The National Series returns with tweaks based on player feedback, while a new Girls’ Cadet BCL pilot is set to run from May to July 2026.

In rankings, new U23, Over-50, O60, and O70 categories launched on August 6. This ranking run also sees age-group transitions for Cadets and Juniors.
