hings are changing fast in professional women’s sport, with significant increases in investment and visibility, but there’s still much to do to ensure true equality for women and girls. When I made the Game On documentary I wanted to highlight the ongoing disparities faced by female athletes and showcase the potential for women’s sport that many don’t yet see.

Why do we expect women and girls to play sport in revealing clothes when men can remain covered? Why do schoolgirls drop out of sport at twice the rate of boys? And why does women’s sport still not have the funding and investment of men’s?

I hope this beautiful and engaging film will strike a chord with both male and female audiences – opening their minds to the power sport has to drive change, and showcasing the challenges female athletes still have to face in their fight for equality.

We have an amazing summer of women’s sport to enjoy with the Netball World Cup and Football World Cup, plus women’s cricket and rugby have such momentum. Women’s sport is only going to get bigger and better, so get on board for the ride.
