Skincare to help you beat the winter

Follow these simple beauty tips which will help give you the perfect winter skin

Cover up
Wear gloves to protect your hands against the cold and to prevent them from becoming weathered during wintry weather. For added protection start using a good quality hand wash and hand lotion to protect your skin from the elements. Wearing socks indoors can also help keep your feet moisturized and when you go outdoors don’t forget to take a scarf to cover up your face and neck.

Short and sweet
While it may be tempting to take a long hot shower, excessive hot water can actually help turn your skin red. Instead opt for a shorter five to 10 minute shower which your skin will appreciate. Hot water also strips away natural oils and damages the skin faster, so stick to a lukewarm or cooler showers.

Frequent moisturising
Moisturizing your skin is crucial for keeping it hydrated throughout the winter. Applying a very thick moisturizer as soon as you get out of the bath or shower and then one more time per day will help keep your skin feeling nice and smooth. Use a richer product than in other seasons – and don’t forget your hands. Your lips will benefit from balm.

Use a Humidifier
A humidifier adds moisture to the air in your home and can help combat dry skin. Putting a humidifier in your bedroom can help keep your skin stay hydrated while you sleep. Humidifiers can also prevent the spread of illnesses and is better for your overall health.
