Mood boosting foods

Beat the lockdown blues with these 10 moods boosting foods packed with goodness

Avoid snacking on unhealthy junk food and opt for one of Nutribuddy’s recommended nutritious options instead.

Research from Nutribuddy has revealed the best 10 food to eat during the coronavirus lockdown. These include nuts and seeds which are high in tryptophan, an amino acid essential in the production of serotonin – a feel good hormone.

Bell peppers also feature on the top 10 list as they feature an anti-depressant nutrient profile because of their high levels of vitamins C, A and E amongst a host of other antioxidants.

Seafood is also a great anti-depressant because it contains the vitamin B12 – which is great at helping boost the mood and protect brain health.  Great vegans substitutes are algae-based omega 3 supplements. Other great lockdowns foods include bananas which are high in fibre and help support digestive health and immunity. And if you can stand the bad breath make sure you top up on your garlic intake – a powerful natural prebiotic which is packed with zinc which has also been identified as an antidepressant nutrient.
