Packing a Golfing Punch

In autumn 2020, TaylorMade – celebrated global golf hardware manufacturer – released three brand-new additions to its P•700 Series of irons – and this time of the year is the ideal excuse to treat yourself to at least one of them

Already highly acclaimed in the golfing circles, the P•700 range has been joined by two pure player irons (the P•7MB and P•7MC) and a revolutionary compact distance iron (the P•770), suited to a wide range of golfers.

The new additions to line-up are, of course, typically TaylorMade – uniting unparalleled craftsmanship, performance and aesthetics.

Here, LK takes a look at each of these special irons and why you’d be wise to invest in them…

P•7MB – PERFORMANCE FOR THE GOLF PURIST
This pure, buttery iron was designed with insights from the game’s best ball strikers and with those who demand precision control in mind. Meticulously crafted to the highest quality, this really is the best feeling iron possible and – with its minimalistic thin topline and slim sole – looks as good as it feels.

P•7MC – COMPLETELY NEW, YET COMPLETELY CLASSIC
Inspired by Tour and, design-wise, meeting the standards of the most discerning players, this classically-shaped iron – with minimal offset – delivers  the ultimate in control and precision. Perimeter weighting gives it just the right touch of forgiveness and crafted grooves guarantee spin and control par excellence.

P•770 – LET THE SIBLING RIVALRY BEGIN
This beauty shares much of the same DNA as its powerhouse sibling, the P•790, and the wow-factor power and distance it delivers belies its weight class and compactness. It features the same technology (hollow body construction, SpeedFoam™ and advanced tungsten weighting) as the P•790 but all wrapped up neatly in a smaller package. Suited to golfers with a broad handicap range (+4 right up to 25).

RRP £1,299 for a set of seven steel shaft irons and RRP £1,399 for a set of seven graphite shaft irons.
