Baby steps

Follow sport psychologist Michael Caulfields' tips to getting started

Visualise you goal
– write down your target and pin it up where you see it
Start small – long-term goals can be counter productive
Start within 24 hours – your chances of achieving your goal, then building on it, will improve dramatically
Sharing is caring – Tell someone you are doing it as it makes you accountable
Celebrate – congratulate yourself when you take the first step – if you don’t blow your own trumpet no one else will
