Wales’ Trails
Pembrokeshire National Park boasts some of the UK’s most stunning coastal landscapes, with over 600 miles of public footpaths and bridleways to explore, including the spectacular Pembrokeshire Coast Path National Trail. It’s home to a variety of rare species and 286 Scheduled Ancient Monuments. Walking not your thing? Kayaking, canoeing, surfing, SUP, sailing, diving and coasteering are all on offer too. Pembrokeshire Coastal Buses will help you get around without using a car, while new train stations and improved rail services are set to make the area even more accessible in 2025.
Caminho Português de Santiago, Portugal
Also known as the Portuguese way, Caminho Português de Santiago offers a scenic journey across Portugal and Spain. Hop on a bike, or hike the 620km trail linking Lisbon and Santiago de Compostela. You can collect a pilgrim “passport” before beginning the journey, which will be stamped along the route. On average, pilgrims will walk between 15 and 30km per day: you’ll need to walk at least 100km to get your pilgrim certificate in Santiago de Compostela.
