HIT THE SLOPES!
With its combination of thrills, flashy tricks and challenging technique, snowboarding has long attracted young people looking for excitement on the slopes Jenny Jones’snowboarding bronze for Britain at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics will have inspired more still! On the otherhand, skiing is a versatile snowsport with variations such as freestyle and cross-country. It can be enjoyed on snow or artificial surfaces across the country and can be a leisure activity or taken to the next level as a lightning fast and extremely skilful elite sport.
There are Snowsport England affiliated clubs all over the country offering all disciplines from Alpine skiing, freestyle, snowboarding, telemark and rollerskiing. From the grassroots level up to national competition Snowsport England values the efforts of volunteers as they help with both the social and infrastructural sides of the sport. If you are interested in lending a hand just head to SE’s volunteer development page.
Snowsport England organises coaching courses throughout the country based on demand, and provides pathways for those new to the sport and for coaching performers in Alpine Racing and Freestyle Coaching.
