GET KICKING!

Of course if you are a born and bred Brit, the likelihood of you not having tried football is pretty slim. However, if you are looking to get more active in the sport or just reconnect with it after some time away, there are a mindboggling number of opportunities to take hold of around the country. Every professional has to start somewhere, be it in the garden, at school or in the local park with mates. The Football Foundation has all the resources you may need to get involved with the beautiful game anytime anywhere. Just throw on some shoes and get going!

FACILITIES

It’s perfectly likely that you already have the makings of a team and you are just looking for a pefect place to play. PitchFinder is the largest database of football facilities in Britain. It tells you were to find local pitches and what other facilities you can expect to find once on-site.

JOIN THE CLUB

Visit the FA’s My Football section of their website and use their ‘Find a Club’ search engine to find a local club where you can get your boots on and show your skills.

VOLUNTEER

The FA’s website has all sorts of volunteering opportunities from coaching, to refereeing, to administration. Also, if you’re a parent, you can get all the advice you need on junior football for your child.

RESPECT

The Football Foundation and the FA’s Respect scheme was created to help clubs tackle unacceptable behaviour on the pitch and from the side-lines by providing clubs with funding and equipment. Keep up to date on funding opportunities on the Football Foundation’s website.
